Richa Kaul

President

Economics, SMG Minor - Class of 2016

Involvement: Executive Vice President of BU Student Government, SMG TA, CSC, Ad Club

Hi, my name is Richa Kaul and I am running for President on the slate BU's Push To Start. Together, Joe, Josh, Jamie and I want to bring continuity and inclusivity to Student Government. We realize that there's work to be done to evolve Stu Gov from its current culture and outreach, and we have concrete plans for change. In terms of our slate, we have diverse student experienes including experiences in Student Government, a critical eye and fresh perspective to the workings of Student Government, and involvement in several other student groups and organizations. Personally, I provide some of the internal Student Government experience. As current VP of BU's Stu Gov, I have worked on successfully getting an additional double-BUS in rotation, evaluating the issues student groups face with SAO, expanding resources for international students, and a new coming-soon Emergency Icon on the BU Mobile app. I know how to work with administration in a way that contributes positively to our relationship with them while still getting things done for us students. I have a strong understanding of what needs to be changed on the administrative front as well as in general Student Government processes to make us a better, more representative body. I would be grateful and excited for the opportunity to serve as President of BU Student Government next year with the rest of this amazing slate.

Public Relations, Political Science Minor - Class of 2015

Involvement: Panhellenic Council VP of Programming, Dance Marathon President, Student Government Director of Events, FYSTAFF 24

My name is Jamie Ellis and I am running for VP of Internal Affairs on the slate BU's Push To Start. Our slate has a diverse background with vetted student government officers and involved student leaders, as well as fresh eyes to student government. Currently, I serve as the cabinet director of events, VP of Programming of Panhellenic, and president of Dance Marathon, as well as an involved member of many CSC programs and professional organizations. My experience as both a leader and member of such diverse student groups has equipped me with an understanding of student needs at BU. With my resources in many organizations, and the feedback of many groups throughout our school, I believe that I can help student government unify the student body and work cohesively with the administration at BU.
